Indische Kochschule macht warm ums Herz
Seit anderthalb Jahren betreibt Joy Wilkens eine indische Kochschule in Syke-Barrien - in einem Nebengebäude ihres Wohnhauses in einer ganz normalen Dorfsiedlung. Dort lebt die gebürtige Inderin aus Kalkutta seit Jahrzehnten mit ihrem Mann Wilfried. Lange hat die Mutter zweier Töchter und leidenschaftliche Köchin ihn in seiner Firma unterstützt, bis sie vor ein paar Jahren auf die Idee kam, selbstgemachte Chutneys zu verkaufen. Was auf einer Landfrauenausstellung im Dorf begann, hat sich zu einem professionellen Handel ausgewachsen: In diversen Feinkostläden der Region, auf Messen und im Internet sind ihre Chutneys erhältlich. Mit der Kochschule hat Joy Wilkens sich einen Traum verwirklicht, sie ist der vorläufige Höhepunkt eines abenteuerlichen Lebens.

Indian Cooking School warms your heart since 1 ½ half years Joy Wilkens operates an Indian cooking school in Syke Barrien - in an extension of her house in an ordinary village settlement. There, the native Indian from Calcutta lived for decades with her husband, Wilfried and mother of two daughters and is a passionate cook. She supported her husband in his company until a few years ago when she had the idea to sell homemade chutneys. What began on a country exhibition in the village has grown into a professional trading: In various delis in the region, at trade shows and the Internet their chutneys are available. With the cooking school Joy Wilkens has realized a dream, it is the culmination of an adventurous life.
